Stocking Stuffers for Little Girls | Stocking Stuffer Ideas for 3-7 Year Olds

Stocking stuffers are actually my least favorite thing to do for the holidays. One year I actually forgot to fill my husband’s stocking (he was in charge of mine and the kids). I had to run to the store the night before Christmas and get some goodies. My b.

I don’t like to waste money on junk and that’s what usually goes into stockings. It takes a lot of mental effort for me to figure out what non-junky things I want to put into them, which is why I don’t like them—too much mental effort.

I actually think I am going to start a running Google doc that has a list of stocking stuffer ideas so I don’t have to think too hard about it ever again. BRB! Starting it right now…

Here are some stocking stuffer ideas that are useful.

1. Legos

The Lego mini sets are perfect for any Lego lover. They have mini sets of Lego Creator and Lego Friends. We usually add them to our Lego tub and that’s sort of how our lego collection gets started.

2. Kinetic Sand Mermaid Treasures

I had these kinetic sand containers in the girls’ advent calendar and they are obsessed with them. They’ve played with them everyday since they’ve opened them. The shimmer is super fun and the girls loved that there was real treasure in them. I grabbed a couple larger bags to replace our old kinetic sand that got quite nasty. We’ll add the mermaid sand into the bin once they open the larger bags on Christmas.

3. Hair Clips

Walmart has the cutest hair clips for little girls. My kids love to put tons of clips in their hair to look “fuscious”, which is Emme’s made up word for fancy. If your little girl loves hair accessories, hair clips are always a safe bet.

4. Hair Bows

I love the ginormous hair bows! They are so fabulous. Walmart has some really cute hair bows for super cheap!

5. Flash Lights

We added flash lights to our girls’ stockings last year. They are still using them. It gets dark pretty early in the wintertime and they like taking them outside when they play. They also think it’s cool to make shadows on the wall or use them in forts.

6. Yo-yo

Emme keeps asking how to use a yo-yo. She got one at the dentist that is kinda junky so we found her a beginner one from Target. It could be a bonding moment to learn some new tricks. My husband told me all about is Yomega yo-yo as a kid and all the tricks he used to do with them. I think he’s very excited about the yo-yo.

7. Disposable Camera

I remember using disposable cameras all.the.time. I’d get duplicates so I could give copies to my friends. For some reason I always liked the white border you could select at the photo center. I thought it would be fun to give a disposable camera to kids—see the word from their eyes, ya know? They could be used just for fun or for a fun trip.

8. Candy Cane M&Ms

Who doesn’t like a special treat? Enough said.

9. Thermos Funtainer

These water bottles are my favorite (and I’ve tried my fair share of kids water bottles). I like them because the kids can carry them. Most importantly all the parts come apart and are washable. Replacement pieces are also available.

10. Crayola Markers

Artist in the house? You know how quickly markers wear out from use and let’s be real, kids not putting the caps back on. I cannot tell you know many markers we have gone through. I will say, name brand markers tend to be the best.

11. Piggy Paint Nail Polish

We have several of these nail polishes. They are non toxic and dry very quickly. They have scented polishes, glittery polishes, and plain colors.

12. Book Light

Book lights are great for any kid who loves books. They are pretty handy on car trips and airplanes.

13. Multi Colored Pen

I used to think these kinds of pens were so fun! They’ll be great to add to a pencil box and use for special occasions. Sometimes we’ll do math in fun pens or write with fun colors.

14. Crayola Twistables

Twistables are a neat idea. They are softer than regular crayons. Emme prefers twistables over standard crayons. Crayola also makes glittery twistables and mixed colors twistables.

15. Gel Pens

I like to use gel pens to correct Emme’s schoolwork. I think they’re fun! Emme likes them because they are shimmery and fancy. Every now and then I let her do schoolwork with them to shake things up a bit.

16. Ring Pops

Need I say more? I used to think I was so fabulous with a ring pop. A giant candy diamond?! C’mon.

What are your ‘go to’ stocking stuffers?
