Miniature Stuffed Animal Bag Charm Keychain

I stumbled on a miniature bear stuffed animal at the thrift store. He was so cute! He reminded me of the stuffed animal teddy bear I was obsessed with as a kid. I decided I wanted to attach it to my tote bag as a nod to my favorite stuffy.

Once I clipped it onto my bag, I was obsessed and wanted to make more. I found old McDonald’s beanie baby toys so I made more bag charms and keychains and attached them to everything!

These instructions are the easiest way I could turn a mini stuffed animal into a bag charm keychain. I’ve had no problems (so far… i hope i didn’t just jinx myself), with them falling off.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR MINIATURE STUFFED ANIMAL BAG CHARM KEYCHAIN:

-miniature stuffed animal

-matching embroidery thread

-scissors

-mini split ring (or a jump ring)

-embroidery needle

-lobster clasp

-32 mm split ring

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN MINIATURE STUFFED ANIMAL BAG CHARM KEYCHAIN:

1. Double thread the needle and tie a knot.

2. Poke the needle through the top of the stuffed animal and come out about ¼ inch (or less) away from the initial entry point.

3. Hold the miniature split ring in between the entry point and the exit point.

4. Thread through the miniature split ring and poke the needle near the entry point.

5. Then come out the other side near the exit point.

6. Repeat threading through the miniature split ring 3-5 times.

7. When you’re done, tie a knot.

8. Poke the needle near the entry point or exit point (wherever you end up) and push the needle out the other side of the stuffed animal.

9. Flip the stuffed animal over and pull the thread taut.

10. Cut the thread and the tail should be hidden inside the stuffed animal.

11. Add a 32mm split ring to the miniature split ring.

12. Add the lobster clasp to the 32mm split ring.

13. Attach to any bag or keychain!
